Charleston’s premiere Happy Hour concert series is back for its 23rd season, taking place Friday evenings from April 26 - July 5 Party At The Point is Charleston's best and longest running happy hour concert series in town and its only beach party.

USS Yorktown at Patriots Point

“Walk in the steps of heroes” when you visit Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, located just up the road from our resort. This museum is home to the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier, USS Laffey destroyer, and USS Clamagore submarine, as well as a Vietnam Experience Exhibit, the National Medal of Honor Museum, and various aircraft.

Ghost Tours on the Yorktown

Are the spirits of past heroes still on duty aboard the USS Yorktown? Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, the USS Yorktown (CV-10) Association, and the Charleston Attraction Group have teamed up to offer a special tour that allows visitors to investigate stories of sacrifice, heroism, and the unexplained.

Fort Sumter National Monument

The first shots of the Civil War were fired here. Catch a cruise to the island to learn about the fort and its place in history. The ferry to Fort Sumter is a ½ mile away from our resort.

Enjoy a fun and challenging game of golf on this 18-hole course overlooking Charleston Harbor, located at the foot of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge just 1.2 miles from our resort. Amenities at Patriots Point include a lighted driving range with PGA instruction, a southern-style clubhouse, and a golfers’ grill and patio.

Downtown Charleston

Downtown Charleston is full of things to do, as evidenced by being named the “Best City in America” by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and Southern Living magazines! From fantastic restaurants and bars to eclectic shops to historic homes and museums, this lovely and historic town is just waiting to be explored. Browse goods from local vendors at the historic Charleston City Market. Take a tour of the Aiken-Rhett House Museum, a historic 1800s home of the former governor. Enjoy savory southern fare in a Victorian locale at the award-winning Husk. Sip on handcrafted drinks at The Gin Joint. Walk down lively King Street and explore an array of restaurants, shops, art galleries, and other attractions. These are just a few of your options in downtown Charleston; the best way to experience the city is just by walking through it.

South Carolina Aquarium

At the South Carolina Aquarium, just across the Cooper River from our resort, connect with more than 5,000 amazing animals and learn how you can protect them. Come face-to-face with sick and injured sea turtles in rehabilitation in the Sea Turtle Care Center™, and follow their journeys from rescue to rehab to release. Visit the two touch tanks for a hands-on experience with stingrays, sharks, horseshoe crabs, sea stars and urchins. Learn fascinating details about the natural world at daily dive shows and animal encounters. Discover the wonder of water, wildlife and wild places at the South Carolina Aquarium.

The aquarium is open daily from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, building closes at 5 p.m. You can even take the Charleston Water Taxi from our docks to the Charleston Maritime Center, which is right next to the aquarium.

Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens

Lined on both sides with massive, moss-draped oak trees, the entrance to this plantation is a symbol of the southern heritage you’ll experience during your time in Charleston. Explore one of America’s oldest working, living plantations, and the #1 plantation in Charleston (according to USA Today’s 10 Best) by taking one of its many tours.

Sullivan’s Island

This charming barrier island is home to beautiful beaches and a historic fort from the Revolutionary War, Fort Moultrie. Only minutes from our resort take a break from vacation and head to the beach for a day of fun, learning, and relaxation!

Shem Creek Fishing Village

Shem Creek flows through the heart of Mount Pleasant, offering a variety of leisure activities like fishing, boating, kayaking, and paddleboarding. It is well-known for its shady, live oak-lined paths, unique shops, and waterfront bars and restaurants. Take a walking tour of the area to learn about area, including the importance of its shrimp industry.

Carriage Tours

Travel back to Colonial times on a horse-drawn carriage tour that will reveal more than 300 years of history, including antebellum mansions, churches, and gardens. We have a variety of sailing vessels to choose from, each manned by experienced sailors who know how to interpret the rivers and channels, and bring the area to life.  Become certified to take out your own Sailboat through the College of Charleston.
